Or how about allowing some privatized surgey in this province to compliment privatized diagnostics like MRI's… that's a whole other topic.

It seems random as far as wait times. I keep hearing horror stories, but I had an MRI on my knee about 4 or 5 weeks after the doctor referred me. Wasn't too long to wait. Why is there such discrepancies?

I hurt my knee a while back. Went to the minor treatment department at the hospital instead of my Dr.I had an appointment with an ortho the next day and the MRI on my knee the day after that.

Maybe our healthcare is better than BCs…

I didn't have to wait long for my MRI. But maybe that's because I've got a happy disposition.

I had to wait 6 weeks for my shoulder; sales, so it wasn't work… no x-rays or any other bullshit either. Maybe Alberta's wait times are better? I kind of doubt that though…

So, I went back to work for a couple weeks… Then I went to my family doctor and firmly told him I was in too much pain to work and I demanded a note for an indefinite time off work. His response… "Whoah… I'm sure we can work something out. Here's a note for a week off and someone will be in touch with you"

Within 48 hours _I was called with an appointment for two weeks_ later…

NEVER AGAIN will I tough it out and return to work with an injury. Within our socialist healthcare system you are immediatly bumped to the bottom of the list if you are a productive member of society…lesson learned!

I'm dealing with the same thing. I got a phone call saying that my specalist apptment (I already paid $700 for the MRI, which my family doc was able to refer me for) would be the same day as the FE exam this spring, which I have to take to graduate and to get regestered as a professional engineer in the US.

I call them back, saything that won't work, and mention that I will be in Vancouver next week, and she says she will check if she can get me in.

Next day I get a call, my new appointment is wednesday, and if I need surgery they should be able to get me in sometime in march.

That's the problem with cities, they're refuges for the weak, the fish that didn't evolve.

I don't want to google this - sounds like a thing that NSMB will be better at.
