Well some what. To be fair if it wasn't for the other 4.. Hunter, Irwin, Read, and Murr who pushed each other. He would not have been the first non european ot win the over all back in 82.
Reality is our alpine team is small compared to the juggernauts that they face off with in Europe. For every racer at a World cup there is 20 others to take their place if they get hurt or retire.
