We need $25K EV's with moderate range way more than we need $150k EV's with huge range but as we know the world is broken...so we'll continue to see effort put into top end of the market.

Kia, Hyundai and Nissan make relatively affordable and basic electrics.

These are still 44K vs 25K for say a base Honda Civic.

Considering median family incomes in metro Van are around $65K, a $44K vehicle isn't really relatively affordable. I think that's one of the blind spots in our little mtb community here, just what qualifies as affordable.
Correct, most people cannot afford ANY new car.
Hence the word “relatively”. As in, Relative to other electric cars.
New cars are for rich people, particularly ones at the forefront of tech.

Pretty much anything in the BYD, NIO and Xpeng product lines is world class for safety, reliability and quality.
Saw an Ioniq 5 today. Not sure why I thought it would be the size of an e-Golf? It's giant.

That's promising, larger wheelbase than the Hyundai Palisade, their 7 seater SUV.
I am test driving one tomorrow, looking forward to it.
There's a showroom I passed on north side of Georgia just past Howe what are those? Chinese or that Volvo electric?

The Delta Integrale-esque styling had me assuming it was an EV hot hatch. It's a bit of an odd look scaled up!

I imagine that it's no worse than a Tesla, Volvo, Audi or Porsche EV.
We want a electrified vehicle for our next car, our BMW X5 lease ends in September, so I'm ordering now to have something in hand at some point over the next 18 months. What I want is an F150 Lightning and I've been on the list since day 1, but it seems that if you don't have an existing relationship with a dealer, you're looking at 2024 at the earliest. If all fails, the PHEV Jeep Wrangler 4xe looks nice, is in stock and returns about 40-50km of electric range. My neighbour has the Rubicon 4xe and loves it.
