We're just a few days away from the second anniversary of this inspirational quote from Bob Lutz, former VP of design at GM ...

"It's an automobile company that's headed for the graveyard. The jaws are tightening and in another year or two we'll see a movie called 'Who Killed Tesla' "

Hmmm ...

Such prestige 🙄

Tesla forced all workers to take a 10 percent pay cut from mid-April until July. In the same period, Tesla stock skyrocketed and CEO Elon Musk’s net worth quadrupled from $25 billion to over $100 billion.

Musk is a modern-day robber baron.

aren’t stock options part of their pay? so their net worth went up too in that time frame. though musk didn‘t earn a salary at all

Would it have been better if Tesla had laid off 10% of their workers and paid the remaining 90% full wage?

Plenty of business owners, if they’re rich enough (or even if they’re not), are showing more empathy for their employees and taking a hit themselves in order to keep people employed and fully paid during the pandemic.

I’m guessing Elon’s lifestyle wouldn’t have been affected if he did that.

He didn’t.  I know a good number of small businesspeople who have, and it’s directly affected their lifestyle and families.

Billlionaires gunna billionaire. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah, I’m sure he only has a billion or two in liquid assets. Poor guy. No way he could pay his workers their full wage.

I don’t know why you’re carrying water for the ultra-rich, but here’s what he COULD have done:

- maintained his workers wages

- shareholders would have punished him, causing the stock price to drop slightly.

How do you think this would have affected his life?  Bear in mind that Tesla stock just dropped about $80billion. Do you think he’s worried about his families future as a result?  His workers are.

i see things from a german perspective. here, if you got furloughed during the lockdown, you get paid 60% by the unemploymend insurance you pay in every month. if you have a good company they top that up to 100%. if you have no unemploymend insurance in your country, you voted wrong in the past. easy as that.

well I guess that’s why you don’t understand the situation then, you’ve chosen to remain ignorant about the situation for American workers.

Easy as that.

200 miles, 75 min quick charge. Is that running in summer? How many miles in dead of winter on a road trip to Revy or something? So have to charge it 2.5 hours on a 8 hour road trip?
