Looks like Jaguar is entering the ring with the I-Pace:
Electric Vehicle (EV) discussion thread
That looks sweet!
There's a real hole in the plug-in SUV segment. I'm not sure that we would collapse our SUV and electric car into one vehicle because the third car capable of hauling the dog and bikes has been important for us, but if we wanted to do that there's not much to choose from now. I don't like the Model X...theres really nothing else that avoids the gas station entirely....an electric pick up would also be cool! Challenging from a marketing perspective but that would be cool!

- Tesla has only turned a profit twice in its company history. Earlier this month, Tesla fired hundreds of workers as it struggles to ramp up production for the Model 3. The company only manufactured 260 vehicles in September when it had targeted 1,500 cars.

If I quote it, it's gold!

He (/she?) also has bad habit of cherry picking single data points, building a self-serving narrative around the data points, then ignoring all refuting data points.

In your dreams, homo.
Taiga snowmobiles has a really bad website. I signed up for their newsletter hoping I'd get some actual info out of them.
Even the little minute plus video I saw of the sled at an airport in Quebec isn't a good example.
Really would like to see a T-Motion or Alpha type track on it. That and not having a product sold in USD
So it doesn't seem like this gas stuff is gonna be getting any cheaper and most of my long drives these days is in a work van using gas I don't pay for.
Currently we own a 2016 corolla S, it's a nice car, not too thirsty but am I crazy for thinking we should trade it in for a nissan leaf?
We go on a long road trip maybe twice a year but most if the time it gets driven for my wifes work commute which is a less than 20k round trip. Other than that it's weekend errands.
One youtuber said if you're already in a multi vehicle household, at least one of them should be an EV.
What does the meeting of mensa minds that is NBR think?
If you can get past the part where they are horrifically ugly, the Leaf is actually a pretty good city car. Really good space in the trunk and nice to drive. Cheap like borscht to run, esp with so many free charging sites in MV area.
North Shore Kia has 8 used 2015 Leafs right now for $18-22k. For that price and close to zero running cost, you could rent a gas car a couple times a year and still save $$$.
Exactly what i was thinking. In the words of Clarkson It seems like lots of people are ok with driving way too much vehicle every day just to satisfy their annual vacation needs lol
The Leaf and Bolt are pretty ugly. Curious to know what a Model 3 AWD would cost in Canada? My largest fuel cost is commuting to work and going to get groceries. EV would make sense for myself. Add in a bike rack or two and all-weather tyres and could have a winner. Keep the ICE rig for jaunts into the bushes and wintery months.
