so i'm 2 credits short of the required 60 UBC credits for a UBC degree (rest of my credits are from other schools).

I just wanted some input as to easy and interesting courses you guys have taken… the credits can be in any subject, any faculty.

I only have to take them for fail/d/credit as they won't be part of my core area of study.

Basically just looking for a something that i can blow off, pay minimal attention to (yeah that phrasing could have been better), and hopefully peak my interest

thankss

Check out Athabaska. They offer large number of online courses. And their focus is online uni courses.

i've got plenty of credits. these credits just HAVE to be UBC ones.

They won't give me a degree with out 60 credits at their institution

I always try to pick super easy courses for the same reasons as you. I always ended up putting in MUCH less effort than was required because they were too boring/easy and ended up not doing very well. What are you majoring in? If you haven't had much of a business focus, intro micro/macro economics are both reasonably interesting as well as extremely easy. I also took a 100 level astronomy course that was quite good, very interesting, and the exams were all m/c which was awesome.

my major is forestry.

i've taken 4 econ courses over the years. enough to know that i won't be taking another.

and grades don't matter at all. as long as i pass. since it won't be a core course for my program, it will be either a Fail/D/Credit and won't affect my GPA

astronomy would be awesome though!

if you can take a super applied econ course, or a development econ course, they can be pretty easy.. they also tend to have a good ratio ;) Also, once you get out of first and 2nd year courses, econ gets really intersting. All that theoretical bullshit they teach you in intro courses, you'll never use/see again.

edit: just looked, take Women in the Economy (Econ351) for a good ratio, or take Econ 226 (understanding econ data) or 234 (Wealth and poverty) for interesting stuff.

Ages ago when I was at UBC there was a 300-level course in Astronomy that was only available for non-science majors. High on both the interesting and easy factors…

You could probably take a drafting/CADD core/fundamentals course. It will be fairly easy and you will probably end up using it at some point.

I took a similar course - it was a Geology/Astronomy course for non-science students. Super interesting and easy course.
