Anybody seen this? some idiot family feeding bears through the windows of their home.

I guess it's all about getting that 15 seconds of social media fame.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

This kind of thing happens a lot, and also with other types of wild animals.

I guess some people don't have the capacity to differentiate between a wild animal and a domesticated animal or house pet.

Then when comes the day (it eventually does) they get their faces ripped off by one, the game wardens will have to put it down.

Years ago we were in Tofino when we saw a mother & 2 cubs along the Shorepine bog boardwalk. The mother was showing an increasing interest in us, so we went back along the way we came. We passed 2 couples from Spain & told them they should turn back & do the boardwalk some other day. They all wanted to run up to it & get a closer look. I heavily advised against it. They saw it my way & walked back with us.

But they are so cuuuuute!  Whenever I see people on the side of the highway trying to get a bear photo op I lay on my horn trying to scare the bear.

I've done that a couple of times, and the onlookers got upset.  So stupid.

My friend in Powell River has 6 very productive fruit trees in his backyard. Apparently if he doesn't gather the fruit quickly bears will come and just camp there.

They're chill bears though, he was scared the first couple times he had to walk past them to his garage but as long as they're well fed they ignore people.

That's great.

Daddy can tell his little girls that they just signed the bears execution order. A hungry bear not scared of people is a dead one.

He doesn't have kids. So I guess the right thing to do would be to cut down his fruit trees?

We have an orchard at our cabin and you can't keep up to the fruit collection to stop them from coming around.  It didn't use to be a problem back when most of the cabin owners were bear savvy, but my wife and I walked down once and there were about 10 people taking pictures of 2 cubs trapped in a tree by the water.  Stupid is as stupid does.
