Dueck GM

I want to buy a used truck and they have one that appears in great condition and meets my requirements but I'm getting a very slimy feeling from this dealership (the downtown one on Terminal Ave).

They have a decent rating on Google, but I looked through the reviews and almost all of the five star ones are very formulaic ("Went into Dueck. Had a great experience with _ in the _ department!") made by users with no other Google reviews, so that seems suspicious. I don't read Google reviews much so maybe they're all like that…

Anyone have any experience there?

That does sound greasy man.. but if the truck is good you don't have to go back right? take it to someone you trust to go over it if you want it that much.

They lost my car for 6 weeks once when I took it to them to get a new lock put in the driver side door.

I leased my first car from them when I first moved to Vancouver in 2007. It was fine. The next time I went back was 4 years later to drop it off, and it was a problem free process.

At the time I managed to haggle $40 a month off the stated sticker price, which I thought was reasonable for a mid-range cobalt. Spent 3 hours at the dealership going back and forth with the guy (and his sales manager, and whoever else he decided to name when he got on the phone to get permission).

Dealership negotiations are a farce, and it's a shame that they are standard fare.

Rookies, if it is easy for me to manage a yard with 400 to 500 trailers and 100 power units to pull the trailers, why can they find a car in lot with 50 to 60 units.

Always always get a pre-purchase inspection performed on a used vehicle by an independent shop before you purchase it. (unless it's a beater) I own an automotive repair shop and we probably recommend not purchasing 50% of the vehicles brought in for a pre purchase inspection. It should only cost $100-150 and will either tell you if its a good vehicle or needs work, if it needs work and but is still a good vehicle it gives you bargaining leverage. It will also tell you of any up coming repairs. Most good shops can also get you a CARFAX report to show the maintenance records.

There are lots of neglected and poorly repaired and maintained vehicles out there and LOTS of trucks coming in out of Alberta (rust issues)

Dude where's my car?!

We have bought 2 used cars from Dueck on Marine over the years [HTML_REMOVED] both experiences have been top notch. I don't know about the dealership on Terminal. Good luck.
