That's too close for me. I have my gin phone the vermouth long distance, start a fight and hang up angry…then drink.

Smoked Martini. Call the vermouth, tell him you have to wash your hair.
Call Laphroaig over. Line the glass with a drop of Laphroaig, Shake vodka over ice and pour into glass.

You waste Laphroig for a cocktail-ish drink? And you probably state that it is ok to drink a Single M. with ice? :S

Actually, a Martini is a cocktail AND/OR a brand. The brand Martini is a kind of Vermouth. The cocktail/short drink a bit different.

The Marriage Ender Martini.

The Vodka come home from work pissed off after a long day only to find Vermouth, twenty eight pounds heavier than their wedding day five years ago, watching Oprah and no dinner made. Vodka walks back out to his car, drives to the airport, and buys a ticket to Vegas.

After a night of unspeakable acts Vodka wakes up hung over, phones Vermouth and says "I never loved you."

That's the relationsip I want to have with Vermouth.
