Trump is the one candidate not owned my the banking/media complex. They're scared of what he could actually do.
I have a few American friends who are smart and not potatoheads, and they are actually interested in voting for the guy.

They are not as worried about what Trump will do as much as they are worried about losing control of the GOP to the rubes they have been pandering to since Reagan.

If your friends would rather vote for Trump over Clinton or Sanders there is a least a little potato in there. He is running for the office of chief wall builder. Has he even mentioned policy?

Maybe your smart friends should do some digging up potatoes and about the guy who has been financed by Deutsche Bank, UBS, Lehman Brothers, Wachovia and Credit Suisse and First Boston over the years. BTW he owes Deutsche Bank at least $250 million

And also, maybe they don't watch this thing called TV, but Donald Trump earned a reported $415 million from NBC for being on "The Apprentice".

But its good to know he doesn't let his cosy relationship with the big banks and Hollywood get in the way of his independence from the banking/media complex.

I think what folks here are trying to say is that his campaign is self-funded. He may owe money to people in his private business life, but for purposes of the self-funded argument, I think people are trying to keep that separate. I do agree that the established GOP is afraid of him ruining them.

Trump says that a lot, but it isn't actually true. But he is a serial liar, so that's pretty much expected.

When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.

The Self-funding myth is just that, a myth. 3.7 million of the 5.8 million the Trump campaign has raised has been 'unsolicited donations', Trump himself has only donated about 200k and the balance is a loan of 1.8 million from Trump to his campaign that he can pay himself back for at any time, with interest. Beyond that, Trump is also renting space to his campaign and pocketing that money.
