President Donald Trump signed memorandums on Saturday that kicked the nation's top military and intelligence advisers off the National Security Council's (NSC) Principals Committee and elevated his chief strategist, Steve Bannon, in their place.

The memorandum gives Bannon, former executive chair of the rightwing website Breitbart News, a regular seat at some of the most sensitive meetings at the highest levels of government, along with other NSC meetings.

Me, too.

Today I had a loong talk with a colleague over a cup of coffee, and we are nothing but amazed at the parellels between how and what Trump has been doing the last week, and the way the German government started their term back in the 1930s: The wording, the attitudes, the contents, the way certain groups of people are described, the way certain individuals gain control of vital areas of government.

Fascism. I warned of this some time ago and you mocked me. Remember that.

A thought to ponder.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

I also warned that eating up everything the right wing propaganda machine aided by RT (you know you did this) could throw at Hillary and by equating the 2 candidates as equally unworthy was dangerous as Trump was much much worse. Remember that.

Frum is the kind of conservative we need. No coincidence he is Canadian. LOL.

I have always agreed with Harris's stance on terrorism and Islam, although I think the focus on border security is foolish when the threat is an ideology and the perpetrators can get their ideas and influence over the internet. Unfortunately, the most effective way to stop domestic terrorists is to increase surveillance, which is also deemed the work of fascists.

I think I became officially sick of the far left during Occupy Wall St and their meetings with hand gestures instead of speaking and consensus instead of leadership. They debated their way straight into irrelevance. Terrorism is a problem, and most of the most dangerous acts of terror come from Muslims. You can't ignore that.

This is for Zed since he has returned.
