what documentaries have you watched lately that are good enough to recommend? watched Amy on the weekend (Amy Winehouse doc) and was impressed. i knew very little of her music and my mind hasn't really been open to jazz but her story is compelling. and very sad/tragic. some real douchbag men in her life sure didn't help her case but i did suspend some of my sympathy when she was quoted as saying at a big awards gala when she was at the top 'it isn't any fun without the drugs'. complicated person and insanely talented and hard working, inspired and motivated to be great. also seemed motivated to live a hard life on the edge and seemed to really embrace being strung out. was that the symptom of her ills or actually choice she enjoyed. i think that's the question but not readily answerable.

Watched a BBC documentary called Storyville: Cartel Land about the Mexican drug war. Truly shocking - the countries political system is dysfunctional

Jinx. It about Robert Durst, a rich sone of a New York developer that was suspected of killing his wife and has interviews with him. Craziest ending ever.

6 part 10 minutes on youtube. It's hard to search with all the other devil weeds on there. Goes into the history of the plant and our own bodies development to include cannibinoid receptors all over and other things.

But I'd watch Nixon and then JFK followed by W.

The Price We Pay. Doc about corporate tax havens and how that's part of what's destroying modern economies and the middle class. It's just a little ironic to rent the movie on iTunes given that Apple is one of the biggest offenders of this kind of thing along with Amazon and Google. It's also a big bummer that Canada had a significant role in establishing these offshore tax havens in the first place.
