I think I might get a G4 Powerbook this summer, or hold out for a G5 Powerbook (anyone know roughly when they might come out?)
wait till start of september if you don't need it before then. that seems to be the consensus on new models coming - august or september - may not be a g5 though. likely freescale 7448 - much more power efficient, higher clocked g4 with a small bump in fsb.
i just went ahead and ordered mine because i don't want to get stuck leaving for university without a laptop because of shipping delays.

i wouldn't even bother waiting for a G5 Powerbook. there are so many issues with it that i doubt it will ever make it into a notebook. a total powerbook overhaul will either happen at WWDC this year, or next year at MacWorld. but it is very unlikelly this year.
