Music's my hobby - playing, production, recording, etc.

I feel I've got a fairly decent palette of broad tastes. I love metal, I love "heavy", but the one thing I can't stand is cookie-monster vocals. Immediate shutdown for me.

Just saying…

I still live in the 90's as far as death metal is concerned. My main problem with Death Metal is that I used to have tons of cassettes, but I bought very few CDs and it's the only albums I still listen to. When CDs were becoming mainstream, I was more interested in prog music (mainly due to Cathedral - Forest of Equilibrium, which originated the shift).

Favorites:
- Old Cannibal Corpse with Chris Barnes: Tomb of the Mutilated and the Bleeding are great albums. I believe Hammer Smashed Face is (should be?) considered one the the 10 best metal song ever. I saw them live in 93 or 94 with Cynic as the first part. That was quite something… Cannibal Corpse are still my go-to albums for bus rides…HA!

- Old Carcass like Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious and the "cleaner" Heartwork are classics.

- Suffocation in the early 90's like Breeding the Spawn. Very aggro.

- I liked scandinavian-type DM as well. Entombed was probably my favorite and I still listen to them. I always like the heavy de-tuned guitar sound.
