Why do so many people want to get rid of Daylight Savings Time? You lose 1 hour of sleep for one day but then you get another hour of daylight everyday for like the next 6+ months!!! Who doesn't want more daylight after work to do outdoor stuff - or am I just biased because I am a mountain biker?

IMO, we need to adjust the time zones by an hour so that DST is standard, and then stop changing the clocks.

In the winter it's dark when I leave for work, dark when I get home so it really doesn't matter, but at least this way I get a few minutes of daylight in the summer.

Agree 100%.

When people say they want to get rid of DST are they suggesting that we stay on DST (as you suggest) or do they prefer to stay on "regular time"?

I'd be ok with keeping it if we moved the clocks forward on Friday Afternoon and back on Sunday evening.

Hands off my weekend you assholes.

Apparently the farmers of Saskatchewan do.  They don't punch a clock.

If they don't punch a clock then why would they care what the clock says when the sun comes up?

Saskatchewan doesn't even change their clocks. I thought it was for the farmers?

Word son. Word.

In SpanishLand they don't change their clocks either.  Probably so that it's not 40˚C at 9AM and dark at 1800

Just because you cut the top off a blanket and sew it on to the bottom, doesnt make the day longer.

Because most of their livestock get up with the Sun?

Extra hour of light after work is of benefit to some people.  It's good for the MTB crowd.

It was supposed to save power, but I think it doesn't save much.  People turn on the lights later, but then they drive around more in the evening.

I say we 'fall back' a half hour at the next change and just leave it there for forever.

So the cows have clocks?
