On the Canadian trump-o-meter, I think Kellie Leitch is well ahead of O'Leary.

This. She's working from the Trump playbook, trying to woo every disenfranchised right wing racist out there.

Being cheap is OK. Being a clueless sanctimonious condescending douchebag is just Vlad's MO.

and 30yrs in the trade and Non Union , after hearing and seeing what the union didn,t do for older family members I choose to stay non union . I pay enough taxes don,t need extra money being taken to support the cause .

The OP link is from 2017 though.
I'd argue hat the concentration of wealth over the past X amount of years is a much greater harm to Almost everyone. But yeah, we should all be fighting each other in the mud for grits while the overlords watch on whilst eating fillet mignon

After one year, I wouldn't say much has changed financially. Hey has and some PR blunders, but financially has he changed anything? I think the concern with O'Leary is that he would make big changes, and it would likely be for the worse.

You can't be serious have you looked at the numbers this idiot is pouring money down the drain like a Kardasian.

The raw, primitive, unrefined trails that see little to no maintenance are the kinds of trails that really build skill. What kind of skills do you learn riding a trail that was made by a machine, groomed to perfection and void of any rocks, roots or other obstacles that could send you careening over the handlebars?

You're implying things are different than they have been.

Both parties give monies to those that have scratched their back. We need to stop saying party x is better than party y when they both live in the same house.

But but but those socialist NDPs and Greens will ruin the economy like last times.

We are so fucked. And it's only just the beginning.

His government ran a smaller deficit in 2016-2017 than the Conservatives ran in 2009-2010, 2010 -2011 and pretty much equal to the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 deficits, the first few years that the Conservatives held a majority. In fact, the projected deficit for 2016-2017 (+/- 30 Billion) is half of the deficit the Cons ran in 2010-2011 (61.27 Billion). When adjusting for inflation, the current deficit is far below Trudeau I, Mulroney and the start of the Cretien governments as well.

I get it though, the rules change when your team loses control of the cheque book.

Don't forget Harper had cut taxes to make things look worse than they were to give a reason for cutting all kinds of important stuff like the coast guard , veterans help you name and he cut it

cuz harper wanted to make Canada unrecognizable and he almost did it cuz given another term you would not recognise the country you live in

instead most of the stupid shit he pulled has been rolled back, his legacy will be that harper was not a great PM

The Conservatives will have signed their death warrant if Kevin O'Leary signs on in any way to their party.

the big question might be how a candidate will distance himself from the Harper government especaily if you were part of his team?

It was called the Harper government instead of the Canadian government … what an arrogant bastard

between O'Leary and Leitch, and the other extremely subpar candidates, Harper actually seems 'reasonable' lol….Michael Chong is about the only rational person running for leadership of the Cons, he seems a lot more reasonable than the rest of the junkshow conservatives. A shame the reformacons took over the conservative party, they have a chance to regain maybe a little respect, but looks like they're doubling or tripling down on fricken dumbass

The other shoe has dropped…http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/oleary-conservative-leadership-race-1.3940596
O'Leary decided to announce today so he could skip the French language debate last night (because his French is poor). What a guy…

Ugh. But as insane as she seems the onus is on us to not underestimate her.

And now compare how many Canadian jobs were spared and/or created from both deficits. As the world market crashed in late 2008 and the hangover thereafter crushed most economies, we came out strong relative to others. The cheques now are going to office renovations, back benchers, and foreign countries. How many jobs is this newest Canada tour creating vs the costing?

Those are great questions, you should ask someone in government to give you the information you're looking for.

My post was specifically about the size of deficits and how supporters of one party hypocritically attack members of opposing parties for the same things they themselves are guilty of.

Actualy the reason we didn't have a 2008 style crash was thanx to the liberals

The finance minister Paul Martin would not allow the banks to deregulate or we would have been in the very same pickle as the excited states

At the very same time John McCallum the right honorable liberal member for Markham was Senior Vice-President and Chief Economist of the Royal Bank of Canada and buddy was hot for deregulation so liberal don't always have good ideas
