Custom Rubber Seal/Gasket Request

I have an '04 Mazda 6 wagon that is leaking oil out of the oil control valve (OCV) manifold. My mechanic says the oil is leaking because the OCV manifold seal is missing, and that the seal is a flat rubber ring that is pressed into the manifold. The bad news is that there is no aftermarket seal available, and Mazda doesn't make just the seal; only the aluminum manifold and seal. So I have to buy the manifold/seal for $200. He's fixed it temporarily with silicone sealant.:eek2:

There HAS to be a source for aftermarket seals that are both oil and heat resistant. Any recommendations from the Freetards?

it sounds like you need a round seal, if you know the size - diameter and thickness, you should be able to pick one up at a parts store, they usually have a board with seals of various sizes and thicknesses.

Well, well I been movin' down to Florida.

Well I'm gonna cut off my leg down in Florida, child.
And I'm gonna dance one-legged off in the rain.

you know I think fork seals would work from the look of it.. if you knew the right size.

that would be pretty Freetard.

Could you punch or cut it out of a flat sheet of (rubber) gasket material?
