Johnny Cash's version of Hurt is awesome, esp if you know a little about his own past. I mean, the NIN version is okay, but Cash's voice makes the song haunting.
Personal Jesus originally by Depeche Mode - I like the Johnny Cash and the Marilyn Manson versions better. Not sure which of these two I like the most … kinda depends on my mood for the day.
Doctor and the Medics' - Spirit in the Sky, much better than the original by Norman Greenbaum IMO.
Edit: Oh yah, and I think Gob's cover of Paint it Black absolutely rocks. Sorry Stones.
