3-4 yrs ago I seen this guy do his album "BLAM" at a local folk fest which was some cool spoken word country "Hick Hop" but he couldn't make a go of the alternative country thing so he sold out [HTML_REMOVED] did a "trad country" album which had the commercial sucess but didn't do it for me cuz I liked his funky spoken word about women/booze/drugs … generally pretty wierd shit

Gangsta Rap is the only thing worse than New Country. At least the old schoolers like George Jones, Merle Haggard, Tammy Wynette were pure country, not trying to merge country with pop. I find the "pop" "new country" to be like regular pop music. Most of it is crap but there are always a few decent songs/groups with musical talent.
