Country Music
One of the attractive aspects of country music (besides Taylor Swift) is the message is virtually always positive and leaves you smiling.
Always a fan of "story" songs as well which they have in abundance.
If you do not like Corb Lund then you are not a Canadian.
I am sorry but the man is such a proud Canadian.
Take a back road is good but do not forget drink a little drink smoke a little smoke.
is going big on a bike the only way to get you stoked on the sport? what happened to riding with your bros, travelling, and riding unique places, to get people stoked on riding?
fines are useless. there needs to be more punches to the throat.

Except for the part where the girlfriend cheats, the dog dies, the truck won't start, there's a tear in mah beer, etc, etc, etc.

When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity.
When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.
Studies show that listening to country music increases thoughts of suicide
The hate comes from all over, but my particular hate is that there's absolutely no innovation to country music as it stands. Even the thing that they call 'New Country' is just Adult Contemporary with a cowboy hat.
Modern country is the the lowest common denominator of music, both in structure and subject. Hell, even pop music evolves (granted it does so while just chasing the next big thing, but at least it evolves).
There's little or no reason to look beyond Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and their contemporaries when looking at 'Country'. Everything past that is mimicry and jingoism with idealized nostalgia and simpleton lyrics.
There are exceptions that make good music, in spite of their choice of genre, but many of these are more folk than country (Corb Lund). For every one of these artists, there's a hundred "Achy Breaky Hearts".
Or at least that's how I see it.
I'll take UN-1 over Country any day of the week.

I think its the lack of musical talent that irritates me the most, playing an instrument in a country band is probably the easiest job in the music industry

That would sum up old country vs. "new" country. Outlaw country (Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson)is awesome for its time.
I've recently decided to give country a try. I grew up around it and it never really took but it feels like a nice change from rock/alternative/pop.
