I thought you used your clout to snag an early viewing.

Can't wait to see NDT rock it. Here's to hoping he strokes some imagination where its needed most.

Starts very slow. Give it 15 to 20 minutes to get going.

just finished watching it - awesome!

i feel like the world is going to be a better place because of it.

We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

Yeah I haven't been able to find an actual torrent. Is that just as bad as pirating music?

I didn't watch today's episode, but so far I've found the show a little too heavy on special effects and a little too lacking on some details. I think there have been one or two statements that have been invoked thought.

On a side note a few days ago I did watch all of The Unexplicable Universe and I found that much more thought provoking. It's much more raw and without wizardry but Tyson makes some really interesting points in it. For example, human DNA differs from ape DNA by around once percent. Let's say we are "better" by that one percent. Look at the difference in intellectual abilities that once percent give us. It's enormous. Now, consider an alien life form that has a one percent advantage on us…

That's the kind of thought that makes you think.

The most mind blowing thing for me has been our cosmic location, and the way it was presented on the show. Scaling out like you would on Google Maps. Seeing it visually presented like that, our infinitesimally small point with an unlimited amount of galaxies and stars and planets around.

The other cool thing was the cosmic calendar. Laying out Earths timeline on a one month calendar page. The entire human history not only would be compressed into the last day, but it would only last 1 second of the last day.

Pretty mind blowing. The insignificance of it it all.
