How unlike Shogun to be posting false stats.
I dont think this group collectively has a plan for what they want. I do know a bunch of them will be crying to the doctors when they get sick at this super spreader event. I have had three people at work catch the virus. Each one had said you don't want it, mild it is not.
I went to the rally in town here today. Sure, it was initiated by local truckers, but i was amazed at the number of private vehicles, people from all walks of life and political leanings. People have had enough of a terribly mismanaged pandemic response and i think we have reached a boiling point over our inept federal government over this issue.
And Trudeau "self isolating" when his local health authorities say he doesnt have to? Just icing on the cake.

Terribly mismanaged eh? There are a number of things I've disagreed with, both from a provincial and federal level, but I don't think it's been terribly mismanaged. Why do you think it's been terribly misnanged and what do you think could have been done better in the interest of trying to minimize the negative health consequences of covid?
Edit - not sure if you know but public health care is a provincial responsibility, the feds just give us money. The border is a federal responsibility, hence why they can put restrictions in place for anyone coming into or leaving the country. Re Trudea self isolating, many other jurisdictions say people are supposed to self isolate if they test positive or get sick. Personally I think it's something responsible people would do if they knew they were positive or had been exposed to the virus.
Eye witness counts of the convoy were 113 and 121 trucks respectively. Freedom Convoy 2022© says 50,000.
Big question: What are they going to do with all those extra hot dogs?

Some continuity in regulation would have been a good start.
Making rapid tests widely available too.....waiting 4 days for a negative pcr test was highly disruptive for my household.....5 times.
Just got word, 185 trucks and at least as many private vehicles in the protest here, in a town of 5000. Thats a pretty big deal.
And before you call them all idiots and rednecks, i spotted 2 doctors and one nurse amongst the cars and trucks.

Yeah, those are all good points, but not enough to label things as terribly mismanaged. You also have to consider that we can't have access to anything we want at any time we want. It's one of the perils of our comfortable society, we've gotten lulled into a general sense of entitlement, that we get to have want we want and how that affects anyone else anyone else doesn't matter.
I'm hesitant to use the idiot label, but there is a strong body of evidence that explains human behaviour and why even people who are highly educated can ignore or disbelieve empirical evidence. Unfortunately sometimes, people choose to ignore good evidence that runs counter to their own personal beliefs and feelings, and it is one of the hardest things to deal with.
A good example of the disconnect from critical thought is that there were people parking their cars on the site of the tomb of the unknown soldier. How fucking self absorbed does someone have to be to pull shit like that?
If anyone questions the support just venture down to Willingdon and #1. It's kind of a thing.

Proving that there are ignorant people everywhere. And what I've learned in life is that the dumbest people are the loudest, which is roughly 10-15% of the population apparently.
I'd like to see a rally for those who are vaxxed. That would be 85-90% of the population. You know, those of us who read stats and listen to experts.
What happened to the guy I seen on tee vee talking about the bullets?
Trucking Assoc. made a nice clear statement distancing itself from these clowns on the noon news today.
Did they really think their little foot stomping hissy-fit is going to change US law? ha ha...
I’m predicting a lot of horn honking, numerous shits taken on the lawn of government buildings, several news interviews with the kookiest attendees they can dredge up, and a quiet return home with their tails between their legs when the hot dogs run out.
