wtf?

There are several studies and outspoken scientists’ statements about woody biomass emitting more CO2 than burning coal. Yet, in order to meet carbon neutral standards, 60% of EU renewable energy is from wood chips.

Throughout their lives, whales enable the oceans to sequester a whopping two billion metric tons of carbon dioxide per year. That astonishing amount in a single year is nearly double the 1.2 billion metric tons of carbon that was emitted by the US military in the entire 16-year span between 2001 and 2017 — but US military activities and expansion are killing off our whales.

Cause our back woods aren't covered in enough garbage already that would really help the back woods get all the garbage they need.

I actually like that idea as it directly ties consumption and waste usage to your wallet. Sure you'll get some nitwits that will dispose of their garbage illegally, but most people won't want to deal with that inconvenience. And local government could factor the cost of illegal dumping into the price of the bags - everyone pays a little bit extra to help keep public spaces clean

Nah, I'm not that optimistic about that, like at all.  Our garbage dump fees are fairly low, like 10 bucks for 100 pounds, but still the back roads close to town are disgustingly littered anywhere there's a pullout slightly out of view. This idea would do literally the opposite of what their trying to do in rural communities.

If they're gunna try doing something how bout making the companies that create all this garbage responsible for the waste their products create.

Have not been that often on here the last few months, thanks for that article - makes more than sense, in a depressing way.

Another good example of how the changing climate is affecting lives.
