Climate Change - so I'm starting to panic a bit
Anyone watching the La Palma live stream feeds? I noticed something interesting on one of the feeds.
They're not monitoring co2 emissions of the volcanic vents or fissures, but they're data logging the so2.
Now, what crazy idiot on this board was talking about volcanoes and so2 over co2 in this thread....?

"just five meat-and-milk giants, JBS, Tyson, Cargill, Dairy Farmers of America, and Fonterra, produce more combined emissions per year than major oil players like Exxon, Shell, or BP. Taken together, 20 livestock firms are responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than Germany, Britain, or France."

If im not mistaken Cargill was sold to China which just adds to their massive co2 count. If not Cargill, it was a very large US based pork processor.

Got a graph showing the size of the French and Portuguese fishing fleets over that span?

That's the catch for everyone, but the Russians were the worst. The factory ships are what really killed things. That and the flawed science used by DFO to establish limits which was upped the Fisheries Minister at the time as they thought they were too low. In reality just before the end they thought the limits represented 16% of the total cod stock when in reality they represented about 60% of the cod stock. A few year of that and the cod disappeared altogether, and with it a way of life for Newfoundlanders. Have you ever been? It's a great place to visit.
Edit: the graphs are million metric tons of fish

Man that's depressing. Just endless doom scrolling.
That is depressing. So I guess that graph would represent cod catches in international waters? Dumb question.
I have been to the maritimes & it is very nice there. Real down to earth people, very friendly. Rugged scenery & a lot of history to see & visit.
Hey Adam West, can you pick me up a fridge if you get the chance?
Funny you mention that, we literally just rounded the corner of cape Scott now and there's a FUCK ton of garbage debris floating around. I've already seen a bunch of appliances and like 40 pairs of gum boots by now. As well as a smorgasbord of toys and other junk.
My heart aches for all that styrofoam washing up on our beaches, the cardboards already broken down and washed away.. why we still use styrofoam is fucking beyond me. Straight up fucked up.
Ha Ha! Made you look.

Yeah, the stryofoam thing is huge, especially when used for dock floats. IMO that's a product that should be banned outright.
Catholic Bishops in the US Largely Ignore the Pope’s Concern About Climate Change, a New Study Finds
Researchers at Creighton University reviewed more than 12,000 pastoral communications by the bishops. Only several dozen of those writings said a warming climate was real.

I think I recall reading that styrofoam doesn't take that much energy to produce. Maybe that is part of the problem.
If there wasn't a market for all that junk, it would not have to be shipped.
Hey! Monaco by the Sea is a term to describe the gentrification of anywhere town close to water, get it?
