Incorrect. Local temperatures in US dropped due to weather patterns. Global temperatures did not drop, and any localized temperature drops were not attributable to less air travel.

So what happened to those clouds and is Sept 11-14 2001 the only instance of this weather subset?

My apologies for not doing my homework, but can someone here tell me if anyone here is arguing that climate-change is free from human meddling?

No need to reply directly, just ask if they also believe the earth is flat and six thousand years old, that we should be teaching the controversy of gravity and evolution and if their parents shared parents.

Maybe we need to start planting Redwoods.

Stop transportation using oil (driving, flying, shipping), stop eating meat and stop using fossil fuels for heat and electricity. Do all of those and the problem would pretty much disappear overnight.

I think most people are ready for those changes but they require major involvement from the world's governments.  No more meat would be a tough one for me, but when steaks are 50 bucks a piece I would go veggie pretty quick.  The sad thing is that our problems don't disappear overnight even if we go carbon neutral tomorrow.  It would take about 40 years to level off.

Our food supply chains (for example) are dependent on oil, from start to finish.

Those changes will take decades, and that’s if the entire market wants those changes to happen. Which it doesn’t.

what's the plan then? live it up knowing/hoping you'll die before things go to hell?

Yeah I believe that humans will go extinct. Virtually every other organism does, and I’ve seen nothing to indicate that we’re special. Our ability to co-operate is exceptional but unbelievable that it’s not useful on the scale we need it to be to “save the planet” (ourselves).

I’ll focus on my immediate surroundings because that’s what I can have an effect upon. Individuals can do virtually nothing to effect change on the scale that you’re describing.  Life is already heaven/hell, depending on how you live. Climate change won’t change that. Us rich folk will be good for a while.

That would only keep the warming rate steady instead of rising exponentially
