A friend just texted me the news.
I am speechless and sad.
Rest in peace.

I doubt he's dead...probably just hanging around somewhere
ok that was bad......
I remember hearing Jesus Christ Pose for the first time & thinking "I have to buy this album". What a screamer that guy was. Must have been depressed or something. Apparently he was dry, or on the road to being sober anyways.

Pretty fucked, people were saying that he told the crowd that the next one wont be as good as this one.. must have done it immediately after the show.
maybe he was trying to strangle the dirty dangle?
RIP either way
That sucks. His shows in the Commodore were some of the best performances I have ever seen. He did the best Zeppelin covers. RIP.

I had the chance of seeing Soundgarden's show in 95 in Vancouver at the Commodore, I think.
I did not go. This is one of the very few things I really regret.

Superunknown had some of, if not the most depressing lyrics and sounds i've ever heard. and brilliant and creative, but in the darkest tones imaginable. heavier than heavy with a touch of heavy on the side. if it was any legitimate insight into Cornell's mind, in the end this doesn't shock me.
I agree, it is a great album but some songs are just really out in the darkness. There are other songs on Soundgarden albums and from his solo projects that are moody or downright depressing as well.
