I will have to watch this. China doesn't need gulags like the old days, they can use technology to de-Muslim the Uighurs. They send their kids to China is Good and Best camp for school and watch to make sure the adults are not doing anything overtly Muslim and in 25 years the problem solves itself.
Canada tried that with residential schools, outlawing Indigenous cultural traditions and other things like the 60's scoop. Fortunately Indigenous people are resilient and those measures failed to "take the Indian out of the child".

That is exactly what I thought when I saw what they were up to. Change the culture at the level of the children into what they want and then as the generations go by the culture disappears with it. Like others are saying if Canada had their level of surveillance and complete control over the whole population it may have been very different. China is not a big fan of diversity to the extent they have tried to erase their own rich history. It is a lot easier to control a billion-plus when they are all on the same page.
I seen on the teevee a HK dissident touring a cbc reporter around a HK library explaining that alll teh books there were brand new because they alll ahd been printed in China.

Why not just ask the Chinese men going to to Uighur's houses to help "integrate" the Uighur family's while the men are at band camp. At least thats one of the last things I read on the subject.
