Who else listens to the CBC and just can't stand the This is That segment?

What really gets my caffeinated panties in a bunch is that they cancel Dispatches due to a loss of budgeting and elect to keep a stoner's program that fabricates issues as if it was a Canadian radio version of The Onion?

AND then they (the CBC) wonder why some people can't take them seriously and want the gov't to pull their plug entirely. Nuts!

That is all…

It probably costs way less $$ to do "This is That" cuz they can make it all up whereas Rick Mcinnis Ray needs to do actual journalism … CBC probably can't afford to pay the long distance phone bill or contributing journalists the likes of Robert Fisk

So just blame it all on Stephen Harper I imagine he doesn't like real journalism cuz they are always ragging on the politicians

If this is that was funny,I prolly wouldn't mind….but it's painfully stupid.

…and as xxx'er said, it likely costs peanuts to produce.

Freedom of contract. We sell them guns that kill them; they sell us drugs that kill us.

Agreed and your right. Peanuts (cost/benefits) aside, it's just awkward. If that was my very first experience with CBC radio I'd be on the other side of the fence calling for less funding too and not likely to ever tune back in.

The first couple of times I would randomly tune in, listen to it for 10 seconds, WTF all over myself and switch stations. Figured out the spoof after suffering through a whole episode. Since then it's been nothing but loathing.

This is That was funny (kind of) one time. But once you know the joke it becomes just stupid.

like having an original War of the Worlds marathon.
