CBC to Canada: "Screw you hockey Fans!"

Say you're the head of CBC sports and you have to make the decision on which game to play Nationally for the first match tomorrow. You can go with:

  • a game that features 2 of the 3 eastern Canadian teams, both with some dramatic storylines to start the season
  • or you can go with a team that HASN'T WON A SINGLE GAME THIS SEASON who's playing a mediocre franchise from another country

Seems like child's play to make the decision right? Well, not if you're the CBC. The Leafs are as pathetic as a team can be right now yet still they're going with them for the national broadcast. I know that these decisions are made well in advance but in what universe should Toronto trump an all Canadian matchup?

THE LEAFS ARE NOT CANADA'S TEAM!

In summary, the only thing that sucks more than the Leafs is the CBC management.

As much as I hate the Leafs ALWAYS getting coverage on HNIC, they are the biggest hockey market and the most die-hard fanbase. If I were CBC, I'd likely do the same.

But I'm not, so I say FUCBC.

I'm not saying that they shouldn't broadcast the Leafs game in TO and area, but why does the rest of Canada have to suffer?

Don't you understand the concept of ratings? Which turns into advertising dollars. The leafs no matter how much they suck have the biggest fan base in the country.

I'd say leafs fans are more die-hard though. They have supported them through decades of suck. At least the habs win cups more often.
