Crab bait? Chum is for the smoker. And Pinks are no Sockeye, but they are still pretty tasty and small enough for 2 people. Farmed Atlantic, now that is crap. I doubt the crabs would eat it.

Pinks are okay if you eat them right away on the bbq stuffed with berries. Chums are good smokers but in my opinion are the funnest to catch. Especially on a fly rod.

Anyone here ever snorkeled down the Campbell river from below elk falls in the summer? Did it last July; tons of fish in there at that time so awesome.

Spring are pound for pound the stronger fish from my experience. That strength makes for some fierce battles on the 10ft flyrod blank set up to mooch. Chums are fun because they have ended up wearing me out, hit after hit, becomes exhausting. Light gear is way more productive and it's a challenge :D.
Chums in the smoker, jerky and candied. Spring fillets FTW. Coho or Sockeye I have always cooked whole, unless they are whale sized then they get filleted. Pinks you throw back after you laugh at how ugly they are. Mmmm can't wait to hit it this fall. Now off to tie a bunch of leader boards up.8)
