Heading to North Van this evening and wanted to have a casual dinner.
Rather than going to our regular places, what would the NBR collective suggest?

Casual North Van restaurant recommendations?
Honjin is a good place for sushi. Lonsdale around 2nd or 3rd I think.

Hands down, our favorite place to dine in NV - Tamarind Hill.
Malaysian food is amazing. Not too spicy, yet full of spices and flavours you'll never get anywhere else. Everything on their menu is wicked good.
The Arms Reach in Deep Cove has the best calimari, and some pretty good beer on tap. Left side at the end of the main road.
You might have to wear the clean flannel though.
Burgoo on Lonsdale [HTML_REMOVED] Esplanade…comfort food at it's best (and a good beer list)
I think Burgoo is a chick bar though. Last time I went in with two ladies, and the place was full, but only me and two other guys.

It's mid week N.Van so everywhere will be dead empty, in an hour and a half you could eat at 5 different places on Lonsdale.
Just be sure not to expect anything open after 9pm, once Matlock comes on the friggen place is a ghost town.

Arms Reach Bistro … Deep Cove, bottom of Gallant Street. Don't know your price range, but prices are quite reasonable for what you get entrees $15-$30. You might want to get a reservation. See menu
Totally underwhelmed at the Lonsdale Burgoo location….food wise. In the same area there is a great Jamacian food joint btwn 2nd and 3rd, east side. First choice would be Tamarind Hill. Never been but looks great, definately on the top of my list.
