in australia, i cant afford insurance…

im a 24yo male with one loss of liscence from demerit points.

i have a jap import worth 5grand. quote to insure is 3500… not going to happen

have a v8 ss ute, (classified as performance car) quote is 3500 car worth 18-20ish

motorbike insurance is pretty much the cost of the bike…

i have 3rd party that is all..

I see no problem with that. You screwed up enough to loose your license at 24 you gotta pay the price.

Back when I first moved to BC from Ontario my insurance went down quite a bit. I still had to listen to everyone here bitch about how expensive ICBC was and how insurance was much cheaper everywhere else :orly:

[QUOTE=heckler's better 1/2;2421909] ICBC is not as evil as many BC'ers think…

ICBC is one of the most corrupt companies in Canada. Its a monopoly when does that ever work out well in the end?

those quotes were before loss of liscence. my choice of vehicle is what makes them not worth insuring…

I thought we were getting raped by ICBC when we moved across enemy lines. Talking to a few folk I know back there lately it doesn't seem like we are getting raped at all.

Can you imagine an Ontario insurance plan applied to drivers in Richmond?

I'm in Quebec and pay $600 for my Suburban fully insured. A friend in Toronto in his 50's with an A1 driving record was paying $1800 for the same vehicle and coverage as me. How does that make sense and like other provinces people here complain we pay too much on Insurance.

New Brunswick had a huge problem with insurance company's out of control with high rates several years ago. Read one story where one guy went from $800/year to $4000 after just one accident and he needed his car for work. Lost his job because he just couldn't come up with the money. The Provincial Gov. since then has stepped in I believe and regulated the whole thing.

car insurance in Ontario is supposedly 'free market'. "Free market" is defined as Rules in place to fuck the consumer and help the corporation. Its an awesome system.
