will only have it for 2-3 days before I leave :) so wont be in BC.. not sure what happens in the states if i get a ticket can I leave the state and not pay
depends on the state and how fast you were going. in some states go over a certain limit and it's an automatic trip to the brickhouse and depending on the day/time you could look at spending the weekend in jail. if it's not stupid speeds and you're not sticking around the state very long then you could skip paying.
but in WA state for example, if you don't pay/dispute with 15 days then you are deemed guilty and your license will be suspended within WA state. that suspension will last for one year or until you pay the ticket. the bad news happens if you don't pay the ticket and you get pulled over again you are driving with a suspended license and depending on the mood of the cop he may let you go with another ticket or he may decide to make you find some alternate means of transportation and have you pay to get your bike towed back to canada.
if you're going to be in the same state for less than a week after the infraction you're probably safe to just say thank you sir and keep on going.
We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.
