Surgery is good most of the time as it will allow shorter chemo treatments and also lower doses in general but not always the case. In my case, it would've been like an open heart surgery (completely cutting the cage in half) but would've also killed me so it wasn't an option. They just gave me the strongest chemo they could get away with without killing me…

Ross, it sounds like you will have a great team there for you. I would assume recovery from the surgery is easier then the Chemo since it will only be soft tissue that will need to heal.

You got this though ;)

didnt know nsmb was only for pros

its not, its only for dicks.

it will be open from sternum down to my lower waist. about 18" cut open. they will have me on Bypass for the Lower IVC Google it lol. and my kidney will be removed and hopefully put back in.. I will not have any core muscles for 6-12 weeks after and most likely be in a wheel chair for the first 4 they said. still a Risk of everything coming back after but in a different area. at the beginning they did not want to even think of surgery but now its top of the list. biggest worry is the IVC having to be cut and put on bypass to remove the tumor. Rest of the veins will be "looped"

So I googled that, and like holy that's intense! But these guys are experts righ.
Unlike me I then googled some more and was amazed that filtered blood from the kidneys flows back to the heart. That's cool that nature figured out that a hydraulic pump should have a filter before it.
