Well isn't that just fucking awesome.
When is your treatment starting Ross? Are they going ahead with radiation first?

If you can drop diggers on a HT you can beat this.
Rosscofat I like your chances a lot better than my dads who succumbed to one of those things in his brain some 50 yrs ago.
As an aside it's said that cancer thrives in an acidic environment. An alkaline one not so much. Something to explore….
Freedom of contract. We sell them guns that kill them; they sell us drugs that kill us.
Rosscofat, sounds like you have a good sense of humour, that will go a long way at VGH.
Get that tumour zapped and cut out. Kick cancers ass. #f*ckcancer.
As Tungsten said you should try to eat alkaline foods, green drinks, wheatgrass etc.
If you haven't had any chemo yet your appetite should still be ok.
If you have visitors get them to bring you green drinks, the hospital food ain't gonna cut it.
My son spent several months in VGH in 2013, I know the place all too well.
I think i've got take out from every restaurant on Broadway. If you need anything or someone to bs with pm me and i will be there.
I'm all for doing what's right, but let's stick to real, proven methods and not venture into woo remedies.
An alkaline diet also known as an acid alkaline diet is a diet that consists of fresh fruit, vegetables, roots and tubers, nuts and legumes and only small amounts of meats and dairy products. Some people believe that this type of diet will help you lose weight, increase your energy and reduce your risk of heart disease and cancer.
However, there is no evidence to support any of these claims.
The chemistry of your blood is slightly alkaline alkaline is the opposite of acidic. Supporters of an alkaline diet believe you should eat food that matches the chemistry of your blood. They say that a high-acid diet upsets the balance of your blood and causes disease over time so eating a more alkaline diet will protect you from disease.
The body has a complex system that makes sure the blood stays in its healthy, slightly alkaline range. If the blood becomes too acidic or too alkaline, the body automatically corrects this on its own. Your blood may become slightly more acidic or alkaline after eating certain foods - but it will stay within the healthy range without a special diet.

KenN, thanks for the link, I'm sure there is some good reading there.
I've seen the "food" that is provided at VGH and a little supplementing of anything wouldn't hurt.
No amount of food regardless of PH will change the tumour or process to kill it.
Sometimes thinking something is doing you good has a positive effect.
There will certainly be no harm done by trying to eat healthy.
We wish our riding friend a full and healthy recovery.
hey bud,
Watching your progress. Sounds tough but we're pulling for you.
I ate so much local lamb, home made cheese sauce (cream, cheese, butter and cream cheese) and bacon and eggs, steak…and coffee… I should have melted from all the acid according to that claim.
The Perfect Health Diet (website has all the info for free) by Jaminet, is an excellent resource. Very balanced, well researched and rational. Skip the supplement section unless you check with the agency about potential interactions.
I think if you can: avoid sugar, grain and vegetable oil it will prove to be advantageous. Should help keep inflammation down and appetite under control while keeping your weight optimal. (Or getting you to it).
The anti nausea meds drive appetite. Might make you feel a little nauseous, which often means eat a little something (almonds and macadamia nuts could be good).
Hang in there.

It just seems like common sense that a healthy diet will help give your body the strength to get through the radiation and chemo.
