She's from up in Alaska, and looking for something really cool to show her, any suggestions?

Which amazes me, because I was in yosemite last year in the middle of summer and could have all the campfires I wanted.. then again they have pretty much annual massive forest fires so there's that too.
Ha Ha! Made you look.
If you don't mind backcountry, go up the Chance Creek FSR in Squamish (where Powder Mountain Cat Skiing operates). Your 4x4 will help with a dodgy creek crossing about 3/4 of the way up. The end of the road is almost into the alpine at 4,500'. A mellow 45 minute hike on a well beaten trail (blueberries might even be ready) gets you to the lake on the east side of Tricouni. Lots of options for exploratory hikes and scrambles.

+1 for Tricouni. Really nice up there and pretty easy access.
Is there a lake to camp by or river you don't have to pack into?
You can't drive right to the lake but it's a pretty short hike in depending on how far you can make it up the logging road. It's been a while since I have been up there and I can't remember if there are any good places to camp off the road.
squamish river is good for camping but the fire up that way might make that a non option
coldwater exit off the coquahalla has some nice spots for free camping as does a bunch of the fsr road up that way. anything much closer will be a gong show
cat lake is a great swimming hole but its a busy campsite with lots of other folks
blowdown lake is pretty wicked but its 30 minute walk from where you can 4x4 into. pretty amazing location though
^^ super nice up blowdown.
The leftover half of the campground on the river at the meager slide is pretty spectacular. Plus you could whip up the hurly for a day hike and swim. And visit keyhole hotsprings, but probably not since its going to be 36deg (100+ for your lady)
Yeah but be careful up there. There's an escaped lunatic running around and apparently he's been known to steal food or try to crawl into your tent while you're sleeping looking for what he's been missing in prison.
:fruit:
Wrong. Always.
Chehalus lake is pretty nice right now.
Camped up Tricouni Last night. It was stellar. Thanks guys.
How was the road past the creek? Were you able to drive right to the last ditch before the trailhead?
