less dealers in a area = no reason to lower prices…
I know of many people that buy from Squamish dealers because the North Shore dealers feel they don't need to move. Your theory, in this economy, is false.
OP - I used carcostcanada when I bought my truck and it showed all the dealer and corporate incentives at the time, save me $1500 easily.
Revered's advice is solid - I did it the same way but over the phone talking to the Sales Manager. I basically had a OTD price I wanted to pay (based on CCC and taxes), on the exact model I wanted - and told the Manager to call me back if they could give me that price or don't call back. Eventually one of them will be willing to say 'yes' to get the deal with no work required. I had a few dealers say yes - both while buying my truck and my VW.
