The "shoe movement" is getting really popular in Iraq. Now patrols of US soldiers are getting pelted.

AWESOME THROW, would have been square in the face had bush not had such great reflexes

anyone surprised a little bit that the throwing didnt get shot?

what do you think will happen to the shoethrower?

Word is the Cleveland Browns want to have the dude who threw the shoe work out for them as a possible QB next year. They're impressed with his arm.

i have a few ideas.

Well, well I been movin' down to Florida.
And I'm gonna bowl me a perfect game.
Well I'm gonna cut off my leg down in Florida, child.
And I'm gonna dance one-legged off in the rain.

would have been square in the face had bush not moved.

however a body shot would be harder to dodge

What do ex-presidents get as far as security?

I wondered about him getting shot as well, but the SS (secret service) must have had that place on lockdown for weapons…though now I'll bet we won't be able to wear shoes on planes anymore. I'll bet that guy disappears.

This was awesome: "If you want the facts, it was a size 10 shoe that he threw."

Major protests right now in Iraq. Ppl want the guy released, and really, how can they hold him when the public sentiment requires otherwise? Bush isn't Iraq's president, he is a foreigmn dignitary visiting for dimplomatic reasons.

that might be a reason that bush can't be charged, but the show thrower is not covered by diplomatic immunity

i think they should build a statue in his honour, but public sentiment doesn't trump laws, does it?

I wasn't referring to dimplomatic immunity but the reporter himself may have been Egyptian, by the sounds of it (al-baghdadiya is based out of Cairo.)

Public sentiment doesn't trump laws and I admit my ignorance of the Iraqi Criminal Justice System however, I wouldn't suspect the law would allow a man to held without trial in perpetuity for an act that resulted in no bodily harm.

More likely he will be tried for something amounting to mischief and released once all the hype dies down.

regardless of who the victim is, i assume it would be considered assault, no?
