I'm pretty overwhelmed by the number of choices a wide scale of price ranges to choose from, so I thought I'd ask here.

I'm mainly want to use it for making green smoothies in the morning to be more healthy, but would also like to double it up as a food processor/blitzer as I enjoy cooking.

Anyone have recommendations? Price range? 200 - 300$?

Vitamix is the gold standard - IMO - for a good reason.

Works well, simple, solid, built to last. Hot/Cold, make great soups, smoothies, but strong enough to blend a whole cow if you need to.

If you're going to use it every day, don't waste ANY cash on middle of the road blenders! They are usually extremely loud and don't last. You won't regret a Vitamix.

I need a new one too. Vitamix are nice but I just can't do it. Can't decide between Krups or Kitchenaid.

Funny was just shopping around for a blender.

I can't bring myself to pay for a blendtec or a vitamix (how big is the freaking profit margin in those things).

Read some mixed reviews on some of the ninjas.

Ended up ordering a oster versa 1100 watt model from Best Buy online. Still haven't got it yet (I only ordered it this morning) but I am interested in how well it is going to work.

Apparently you can fit the small blade assembly onto a mason jar which would be handy if you are making nut butter (get your mind out of the gutter) as you can just put a regular top on when you are done. Or you could make a smoothie and drink it out of the mason jar like a true redneck.

Reversing (is supposed to help when you are blending something and it isn't mixing well)

7 year warranty through oster.

Krups unit I was looking at was 30% one star on Amazon….

Kitchenaid unit was in the running but I bought one of their overpriced toasters a while ago and it sucks so I am boycotting them. Their higher end unit got decent reviews though.

I have had an Ostracizer for years. Just got a ninja, game changer. Uses less water and makes a very frothy smoothie. 1 cup blue Berry, 2 bananas, 1 table spoon ground flax, 1 scoop Vega mocha protein powder.

is going big on a bike the only way to get you stoked on the sport? what happened to riding with your bros, travelling, and riding unique places, to get people stoked on riding?

fines are useless. there needs to be more punches to the throat.

A Vitamix purchase will last a generation or two.

Vitamix from Costco. Watch for sales, we got our ~$400 model for $300. Wicked blender, useful for all sorts of stuff, and makes great smoothies.

Being cheap is OK. Being a clueless sanctimonious condescending douchebag is just Vlad's MO.
