You've inspired me. I should make myself a biltong box and get started making some. Experiment with some other meats. I've had moose and bison biltong and both were fanstastic!
Biking: As addictive as cocaine, twice as expensive!

yeah man, they are super simple, and take no time to throw together… I too am gonna experiment with various meats and recipes.. I also wanna make some dried boerewors next
and hell yeah Castle Lager… the cold beer and wine here in Squampton used to carry the Castle, but now they dont, anyone else find it locally??
I know I've bought it at the cold beer and wine store next to the North Vancouver Different bikes. I think I've seen it at the Deep Cover BCLS as well.
Castle is stocked at the BCL at esplanade by lonsdale quay and also last time i checked at westview too .
I will try the coffee grinder again , but my biltong gets rather "skunky" that way 8)

its easier to dry out when u are still making it, then u just hang it a little longer, or throw a fan on it. And u might wanna use a different coffee grinder, haha
hell yeah, its all done, turned out AWESOME, im devouring a piece right now! NEXT challenge now is to find somewhere in the vancouver area where i can buy a Potjie Pot! Any suggestions?? I dont really wanna get one off the net, the shipping would be astronomical on something that heavy.. cheers for any suggestions

I don't know what a Potjie pot is, but give that African imports store in North Van a call. I would guess they'll know who can help you (maybe they can add one to their import shipments)
yeah thanks, i will give them a try… a potjie pot is basically a cast iron, rounded bottom, pot, with 3 legs on the bottom..
Wholesale Sports has some cast iron pots. Maybe they would have something that would work for you. They have a store in Langley.
