so my upstairs neighbour bought a mtb and brought it down for me to look at. he paid $200 for an 02 norco fluid from a buddy who got it 2-3 years ago from some street guy. he wants to know if the bike is ok and asked about the rear wheel which was out of true, after having a quick look at the bike and letting him know it's ok i gave him the speech about buying hot bikes being not cool. he's a flooring guy and sheepishly relates it to buying stolen tools.
anyway, not even 10min after he leaves he calls me back asking about his shock that's just leaked oil everywhere. apparantly he dialed out the rebound knob too far and then cycled the shock and all the fluid leaked out. he wanted to know if it was fucked and how much it was gonna cost him.
in between fits of laughter i said it would probably cost him a couple hundred bucks to get the shock serviced.
We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.
