wow, haven't been down this road in a while…
Like Nat Baley, I'll back go way back because those concerts were just more memorable than most any other I've seen recently…. other than Tom Waits.

I Was in Ontario for high school and uni, smoked some hash and went to a lot of shows….. lol

Maple Leaf Gardens: 1970's, maybe early 80's

Alice Cooper - cool
Supertramp
ELP - unbelievable
Queen - nuff said
Rush
Yes
ELO
Pink Floyd
Van Halen
Aerosmith
Jethro Tull
Teenage Head
Gentle Giant - Not many know this band, but they blew my mind
Genesis - with Gabriel

Other various oldies:

Led Zep - The Forum in Montreal 1975
George Thorogood - Massey Hall
Jean Luc Ponty - Massey Hall
Violent Femmes- Concert Hall
Stones - El Mocambo, yep I was there in 1977. Put that in your pipe
Stones - CNIB benefit, Oshawa Civic Auditorium 1979
Santana - Kingswood Music Theater 1985
Bob Dyllan - strange show at Canada's Wonderland 198?
Police Picnic - man was i wasted
Who
Greatful Dead
Clash
Simple Minds
Judas Priest
Abba - my gf wanted to go
Fleetwood Mac
Ramones
Melissa Ethridge - yeah, I know…. but super tight band back then.
Neil Diamond

All time best concert…… 1985 at Varsity Arena, 3rd row center floor(seats maybe 1000)

Dire Straights, with none other than Stevie Ray backing them up…. holy crap!

Even though I have almost all their albums I never got to see Gentle Giant. Damn shame too.

  • Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lollipoloza, I drove them to the concert and got backstage passes

however did you get them and their lightbulb heads into the car?

by the time they hit the stage we were pretty much too bagged [HTML_REMOVED] too rocked out: Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Ice Cube [HTML_REMOVED] Ministry right when they were in their prime (start, middle, end you decide)….good times.

The best concert that I never saw (or anyone else for that matter) - Guns 'n' Roses, Metallica and Faith No More - I got tickets for my birthday but James Hetfield stood over a flash pot when it went off the night before in TO

the mishap happened in montreal, i was at the show in toronto 92.
the original use your illusion tour in 91 was better by far.

On a side note….

When Nirvana first appeared on SNL, they went from a somewhat cultish band to #1 within the next week. It was quite the transition in music - a milestone.

Pearl Jam, FNM, and STP appeared within the next few weeks.

The MTV Video Awards was pretty funny too.

Ha! $7 … those were the days. I remember paying 6.50 for some pretty awesome shows, tull, ELO, Sabbath. Now you can't in to a decent show for less than $100

Virgin Fest wasn't too bad today. I'm not old enough to have checked out the stupendous rock and rolls back in the days, but, Rise Against was coo' yo.
