Hmmmmmm….

The CMA suggested physicians and other health professionals work with their patients to reduce obesity through education, proper nutrition and regular exercise.

Maybe gym class should be mandatory until the end of high school…..just sayin

That makes sense if PE wasn't such a joke. I remember standing around for 45 minutes to get my turn to do whatever lame activity the teacher had planned for the day. I burned more calories changing back into street clothes than anything that we did in gym class.

Being an agoraphobic adrenaline junkie would be pretty convenient, because you could get your rush from just going to the store to get some milk instead of having to jump off a mountain or out of an airplane.

they also call me "balloon"

In America having intelligence is more likely to be identified as a medical disorder.

More Idiocracy. That show is prophetic.

I love that movie, but it's really scary how prophetic it is…

Obesity is a disease in the same way that smoker's cough is a disease. Its not caused by a pathogen, or contagious, or directly inheritable (but can be passed on through family lifestyles) or directly fatal but is a symptom of lifestyle choices (smoking). The medical profession needs to devote more resources to curing smoker's cough.

I have no doubt that obesity is a serious problem for many people and those who yearn to attain a healthy weight deserve our support and encouragement. But to say those affected by poor lifestyle choices are completely blameless is taking things too far.

i'm confused. the world health organization has classified it as a disease since the late 90's. Does Canada not agree with the WHO?
