Skypilot and Shipwreck are on my regular weekend drinking list as well. I try to get out to Backcountry for a pint or a flight once a month but kid/wife/work love to cut into my all-important bar lounging time. I usually get the Trailbreaker, but the Widowmaker is good too. We live in golden times for beer drinking. Next stop, craft weed. :P

I think Space Armadillo is a limited run beer they do a couple times a year? Their new Single Whammy single hopped IPA seems to be a full time canned release and is awesome. I've noticed some BC Liquors around Vancouver selling Twin Sails and Yellow Dog as well which is nice.
Bombers super pest double IPA is surprisingly excellent. would drink again!
Backcountry Hold the Onions Citra IPA and Brassneck + Superflux collab IPA both awesome.

Not beer related per se, but I stopped by Backcountry for a couple beers after a ride with a buddy on Sunday and had their Wake and Bacon pizza. Goddamn it was good!
I spend half my time working in the comox valley these days, the breweries up island are great. Highly recommend trying them out when y'all come out to cumby for a ride.
Beachfire in Campbell river has never made a beer I didn't love.
Cumberland brewing company has a forest fog that is great
Finally, the local restaurant had fuggles and warlocks gin lime pilsner. It is life changing.

tldr; They're switching to 500mL cans for 6 and 12 packs and keeping prices the same as they were for 355mL cans.
Christ these are more awful than I remember.

I still haven't stopped in at Backcountry, need to rectify that after a Squamish trail ride soon!
we had 2 craft breweries open up in the last few months only 2 blocks from each other, in a town of 5000 that seems excessive but they have both been crazy busy beyond their expectations ... the beer culture is strong in smithers
Smithers brewing had not opened yet when I was last in town, but the Bulkley Valley guys were pouring. I wasn't over the moon about their beers, but I have learned with the new operations that it takes a bit of time to settle in.
yeah i wouldn't argue with ya on that but they have both just opened
the brewmaster at Bulkley was probably still tweaking recipes altho he has now pretty much settled on his IPA recipe which I agree on
his new Penetrailia Pale Ale (named after the bike trail) is actuly not very pale but very tasty right from the git go
Bulkley has a P.A. so they are entertainment ready, it looks like thats where the muscians and ski bums are hanging
It makes sense, Canadians (or people in general) love beer. Once you understand and taste real beer you quickly learn it's worth a bit more money to drink it versus piss water macro shit. And tasting rooms/breweries are kinda fun, plus growlers are the cheapest way to buy the stuff in BC it seems.

the biggest selling beer at Smithers brewery is and will probably always be the Lager so people are liking the beer culture but what does that say about their taste buds ?
