Ok I will try to be serious for a moment…….and attempt to spell correctly.
Some one gave me some double smoked bacon from a deli in Burnaby. The bacon was superb. It even smelled better than your average bacon! Does any one know where this deli is? Who makes the best bacon?
The troll in me is probably baiting the AlphaBitches.Cant help myself!
Bacon lovers; Feel free to extol the virtues of the ultimate bacon!

I've been very happy with the bacon from Re-Up BBQ in New Westminster. You can get thick or thin cut, 1/2lb or 1lb packages. Their pork supplier is Gelderman Farms, a local (Abby) farmer who doesn't use antibiotics, grain fed, etc.etc.

I had some from Two Rivers Meats which I thought was pretty good. North Van though, not Burnaby. My own bacon was good although I'm not convinced it was the best I've had, but of course there is the "made it myself" factor which adds to the enjoyment.

I usually get some thick cut antibiotic/hormone free stuff from the local butcher but sometimes buy the packaged stuff on sale. I don't discriminate too much when it comes to bacon but the locally butchered stuff is definitely better

I'm going to a place called District in Calgary in a couple weeks. They serve buckets of house cured bacon with jars of house brewed beer. See below.

Deli in Burnaby could be Cioffi's on Hastings.

Or possibly Moccia Urbani (Hastings but in Vancouver), but I don't think they do plain bacon.

For prepackaged bacon, Hertel's is very good. Thick sliced and minimal added crap. It is from Vancouver Island, stores like Donalds seem to carry it on the mainland but not always easy to get. I stock up at Thrify Foods when i am on the Island.

Did you buy a pork belly and use a lil chiefe smoker? How do you cure the pork? Makin your own bacon sounds awsome!
