I live in Hawaii where all the street and place names are indigenous words, my phone is like a mini British Imperialist renaming all in it's domain.
They should really release a patch with place names loaded for your region.

I just cleared cache and data for the keyboard manager on my phone. It works much better now. It had been driving me nuts.
