so on top of salties roaming the flood, a buddy of mine from oz tells me there have now been two sightings of bull sharks roaming the waters there too, hip waders ain't gonna solve that shit

That is an effective way to get a grasp on the extent of the damage. I can't imagine the clean up required.

Waterfront is fine as long is it isn't at or slightly above sea level. Most of the BC shoreline is steep and rocky. No worries.
