Yeah its pretty intense at the moment, Not only is Queensland experiencing large scale flooding but also the top part of New South Wales aswell.

The footage we are seeing each day is just incredible. Containers, cars, pontoons, boats, boats on pontoons, trees, all kinds of things just floating down through the Brisbane CBD. Wivenhoe dam which was constructed after the 1974 floods to try and protect Brisbane and the surrounding areas was at 190% capacity today.

They are expecting the peak levels to hit tomorrow too, just hopefully there is no more rain.

paging straya - you ok? this looks nasty :|

Thanks for the kind thoughts Judy, yeah I'm fine.

If I recall correctly Straya mentioned he was living just across the tracks from Sutherland Shire south of Sydney. So uness he moved or they have a nuclear accident at Waterfall down the road he should be okay.

Jeez I've got an e stalker. That's a little scary :)

Yeah crappy situation. My parents are in a northern NSW town that floods regularly but they live on a hill and the town is used to it so they are fine. Otherwise my GF's first cousin has had her house go under completely and lost everything so we'll be looking out for her in the coming months. I am still half expecting a call to go up and assist either through work or my volunteer fire brigade- time will tell whether it happens.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts everyone.

Sure sure. Just admit it… it's really because the threads are funnier here than they are on rotorburn….

Except this one….which is not funny at all.
