If I recall correctly Straya mentioned he was living just across the tracks from Sutherland Shire south of Sydney. So uness he moved or they have a nuclear accident at Waterfall down the road he should be okay.

It's really hard to describe how fast and hard it can rain in Australia. When I was there 10 years ago got caught in one. It was like getting a normal 3 hour Vancouver rain in less then 5 minutes. It was pretty amazing.

Then add the factor of drought that large parts of Australia hav been experiencing.

Brisbane is such a beautiful city. So unfortunate what's going on there.

I have no filter …

I was in the huge floods that went through Far North Queensland back in (I believe it was) 1998, it was a pretty scary experience, we had no phones, no power, not really a lot of contact with anyone outside. I lost most of my furniture and my car floated off down the street!

My family (luckily) are out of the disaster area, but my thoughts are with my friends back home who are currently being affected by these terrible events!

Pretty intense. Hope your friends are ok. Looks like cars don't fare well vs. Australian flood tides:

Apparently this was taken in a Greyhound parking lot:

In the words of the guy I got the pic from: "crocodile infested floods are the worst floods imaginable."

The Saltie is thinking the following,

- Okay, this is not where I started my day.

- Fuck I'm bleeding hungry

- Hey dummy with the camera. Come a litle closer.

The GF's sister lives just outside of Toowoomba and she was visiting just before Christmas. They were already dealing with road flooding and bridge's washing out then. It's crazy that it actually has gotten worse.

Man, I feel sorry for those involved. Hopefully they'll make an appeal for people around the world to donate $ to get them back on their feet.
