The fuel savings on a new F150 will offset the poorer mileage of the 08.
The extra power the new 5 Litre has would be handy for towing too.

The Fords are nice but not the best mileage, but its splitting hairs really. I owned a 2003 Silverado with the 4.8 and I had nothing but good things to say about that truck. Even that engine had decent power but it also had really good mileage. If I could get an F150 with the twin turbo V6 engine ('11) I would, but it's A) Expensive and B) doesn't have a front bench seat.

Dodges are by far the best deal going, and they're really good trucks. They've come a long way in terms of gas mileage too.

For me the Tacoma and Frontier are out….way out. I've read too many horror stories about the later model Taco's, not to mention shitty mileage and crazy price tag. Seriously, why would I spend that kind of money for a smaller, less capable truck with the same gas mileage? Re-sale means nothing to me too since we usually keep our vehicles long enough that they're basically worthless anyway.

I think the Titan would be my last choice of any truck. Bad mileage and questionable reliability.

Adam West, you need to start making arguments based on merit not on what you think, because clearly you can't think.

You said the chevy was good (for you) I said they sucked (for me)
and I said why they sucked.. I'm talking about my experiences with those trucks. whether or not it's relevant to the op is not my problem..

Ha Ha! Made you look.

As someone who ACTUALLY OWNS a nissan titan, i can tell you now that the fuel savings of the ford isn't going to be any better than the titan. I drove my titan, which i use as a work truck btw, from chilliwack to mission and back again, 6 days in one week, and it cost me just under $100 in fuel. That was about 1200k.
Personally, having driven a ford and now owning a titan, i would be all over that one you where looking at, if i had to buy another truck.

No, look at the stats and the reviews. My personal experience adds to it, yours goes against popular opinion. Your personal issues has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Thanks.

Did I read that correctly - you're driving 1200kms on 100.00 in gas?

Have you driven a NEW Ford F150?….I am being told by people that own them they are getting mileage in the mid to high 20's.

Perhaps in neutral coasting downhill? My old 4.8 with a $100 in gas would not even go half of that but it still has the best mileage of any V8 full size.

chilliwack- mission = 50k x2x6 = 600k
100 bucks for 600 k sounds about right.

NO chance that Titan gets even close to that.. unless it on the back of a towtruck.. which is very likely..

The guy I bought my Tacoma from replaced it with a Titan. Extended cab, long box (8ft 4wd with the 5.6L.

He does the exact same commute to his job site everyday. Said it costs him $80 more per week in the Titan, that's more than a full tank of gas for the Tacoma.. sounds like he regrets selling it.

Just for mileage comparison. My 08 Dakota 4x4 with a 4.7l V8 will do 10l/100km when cruising at 100kph. My best tank is 11.5l/100km and I have a live time average of about 14l/100km.

I would imagine that a 4.7l 1500 would be about the same.

The my truck has a 1,750 pound payload and tow 7,050 pounds.
